The Redwood forests of northern California and southern Oregon are nothing short of breathtaking. The massive trees that tower hundreds of feet overhead don’t allow much light to reach the forest floor, and in the dim light, moss and ferns carpet every square inch of the forest. This wonderful soft light is some of my favorite to photograph, and when I found this small, moss-covered tree, it composed perfectly with the ferns beneath it.
