During my spring of 2019 trip to Death Valley, I had a week of what seemed like relentless storms, rain, snow, and wind. While out at this backcountry dune field, I had one break in the wind where I was able to expose a few sheets of 4x5 film. The eerie, dark storm clouds were such a wonderful backdrop for this great scene and, while there was never any golden light, the balance was perfect in my mind.
