Such a wet year is a rarity for Death Valley. During my time spent in Death Valley in the spring of 2019, they had received their entire annual in just a week, which flooded Badwater Basin. I spent several mornings and evenings in the area, trying to capture this fleeting moment, and on one morning, all the boxes were checked as I was able to photograph a gorgeous sunrise in the valley as the waning moon was setting.
