I equivocate desert varnish as nature’s canvas for abstraction. Almost as if Jackson Pollock is painting from the grave. As water runs over the edge of the cliffs, it leaves mineral deposits behind on the sandstone walls, creating unique patterns that block and reflect light in unique ways. It’s no wonder these trees found their home at the bottom of this wall - water found its way to them over the years, leaving the signs of its trail behind.
